new art

I got this little book about art nouveau the other day and have just really started falling in love with the genre, so I thought I’d share. I love the combination of organic and geometric forms.

I’m specifically digging the work of Margaret MacDonald MackIntosh and her husband Charles Rennie Mackintosh. That whole period seems to me to have been the beginning of modern graphic design and of commercial and advertising designs being seen as artwork.
